First National Savings and loans disburses GHc 65 million to clients

The First National Savings and Loans Company Limited (FNSL), one of the fastest growing financial institutions in the country has so far disbursed loans to the tune of GHc 65 million to their clients as compared to a total of GHc 23.97 million loans disbursed in 2006. The loan disbursement has to a larger extent improved the financial status of most Ghanaians particularly traders, farmers as well as small to medium scale entrepreneurs.  With this tremendous achievement, bank which is the only financial institution represented in all the regions with 47 branches intend to expand its banking radius to benefit other countries outside Ghana. This came to light at the commissioning of the bank’s new office complex in Bawku. The Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom who made the disclosure said the bank hopes to extend its coverage with the introduction of new devices that has the capacity of securing the daily contributions and savings of its prospective loyal customers and outlined moves by the bank to introduce Automated Teller Machines (ATM) in all the branches scattered across the country. According to Dr Nduom, the bank has sent a proposal to the Bank of Ghana for approval, when this is done; the bank will become a universal bank. Moreover, the bank intends to introduce expertise to be members of the board of directors. Independent personalities, Dr. Nduom reiterated will be encapsulated to consistently review the activities of the bank to ensure that the right thing is done. Dr Nduom said the bank will continue to provide unparalleled excellence service and also improve its wide range of innovative financial products to make it the leading financial institution in the country. He showed his deepest appreciation to all employees of the bank and encouraged them to work assiduously to maintain its track record.  The Bawku Branch Manager of FNSL, George Anaba said the bank since its establishment in 2006 has made banking easy and convenient for the people of Ghana and has brought effective and efficient banking to the doorstep of the ordinary citizen. Mr. Anaba emphasized that the commissioning of the Bawku branch which has been in operation for the past 8 months will not only serve the people of Bawku but also areas within its catchment area. The bank according to Mr Anaba has impacted positively on the lives of the people in the Bawku Municipality, stressing that in  less than a year of its operation the bank have granted loans   totaling GHc 2million to its loyal customers. By the end of the year the bank hopes to expand its loan portfolio to GHc150 million thereby making credit available to many more Ghanaians. Mr. Anaba assured valued customers of excellent range of customer services and urged all well meaning Ghanaians to partner and save with the bank.
