New UE Regional Minister honoured with a rousing welcome

The incoming Upper East Regional Minister, James Zuuga Tiiga, yesterday arrived in the region to a rousing welcome. Mr  Tiiga was welcomed by an enthusiastic crowd comprising NDC party supporters at Pwalugu in the Talensi District.  Some revered chiefs mainly from the Kusaug Traditional Area, MPs, as well as municipal and district chief executives were among those who welcomed the minister.  The atmosphere was that of excitement. Mr Tiiga, replaces Dr Ephraim Avea Nsoh, following a recent ministerial reshuffle. Sacrifices were performed at various points to herald his coming and also give him spiritual fortification to guide him in the course of his official duties. Addressing a large gathering at his residence the Deputy Upper East Regional Minister, Daniel Syme, said the arrival of Mr Tiiga, was an indication of his time consciousness and his ability to work for the development of the region. The NDC Regional Chairman, Alhaji Bonaba, implored party faithful to give the minister the support he deserves. He appealed for their cooperation, and   entreated the minister to ensure an open door policy and consider carefully every idea and proposal tabled before him. The Regional Minister, James Zuuga Tiiga, thanked the people for the rousing welcome and called for unity and cooperation among the people. He said development thrives where there is unity Mr  Tiiga, promised to work with all irrespective of party affiliations. He said he was determined to alleviate poverty and lessen the plight of the people by bring development to their doorstep. An official handing over ceremony will take place tomorrow to enable the new minister assume his official duties.
