The NDC Member of
Parliament for Bolgatanga East Constituency, Dr Dominic Ayine, has presented
five computers and accessories to students of Bongo Bio Junior high school in
the Upper East Region.
The donation was in response to a request made to Amandi
Energy Ghana Limited, an Israeli Company by the MP.
It also forms part of the MP’s initiative to
enhance quality education through ICT. In an interview with Radio Ghana’s Isaac
Asare, Dr Ayine said plans are afoot to extent the gesture to other schools in
the constituency.
He charged the beneficiary school to make productive use of
the computers to help promote effective teaching and learning.
Students at the
school were also encouraged to put their minds to studying in order to become
useful citizens for the country.
Meanwhile,
Dr Ayine, who also doubles as the Deputy
Attorney General is being assisted by fiends and well-wishers to construct a
modern office complex for the party in the constituency.
The ongoing project
which is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of next year is 70
percent complete and has six offices and a conference room.
This includes an
office for the constituency executives, the chairman and the MP. According to Dr
Ayine, the project is in fulfillment of his campaign promise made during the
course of the primaries.
The office complex when completed will facilitate the
smooth running of the party’s activities in the constituency.
Mr Ayine spoke on
the significance of the project since it is one of its kinds in the region and
the country at large.
