As the country prepares to go to the polls next month, politicians
have been advised to exercise caution on the road whilst going about their
campaign tours. Addressing enthusiastic supporters at a zonal rally held at
Sakote in the newly created Nabdam district, a teacher and an astute member of
the ruling NDC, Martin Dittoh reminded politicians to be wary on the road so as
not to disenfranchise themselves come, December. He said considering the
deplorable nature of the country’s road network, politicians and their
supporters stand the risk of losing their precious lives if care is not taken
as far as overspeeding is concern. Politicians, he moreover cautioned should
consider using qualified and trained drivers in their campaign tours. Stressing on strict adherence to road safety
regulations, Mr. Dittoh laid particular
emphasis on the high speed rate of political convoys and the exhibition of acrobatic
displays of motorbikes by party supporters, and advice the youth who dominate
in such activities to be mindful of their lives as they follow such political
convoys. Mt Dittoh who lost to Hon. Moses Asaga at the just ended NDC constituencies
primaries said accidents are bound to happen when road regulations are ignored,
hence the need for party supporters to put their lives ahead of all political
activities. Mr Dittoh urged electorates to rally behind President Mahama and
the incumbent MP to guarantee their share of the better Ghana agenda. He said
the NDC was poised for victory and needed the support of all to ensure a one
touch victory. He moreover appealed to the rank and file of the party to form a
united front in the build to the upcoming election, adding that unity was key to
achieving the victory for the party, come December, 7. He said he being a
member of the Hon. Asaga’s campaign team
he was going to ensure a successful campaign journey and
cautioned party supporters who have decided to vote skirt and blouse to
consider rescinding their decision by voting massively for the NDC.
