U/E RM advises BECE candidates to shun all forms of examination malpractice

The Upper East Regional Minister, Albert Abongo has sent a goodwill message to candidates writing this year’s BECE in the region. 
 
He has however entreated candidates to remain focus and put up their best to enable them sail through the period of the exam. 
 
While urging them to concentrate to be able to recollect what they have learned, Mr Abongo commended school authorities and the leadership of the Regional Education Directorate for putting in adequate preparation for the 5-day exams.   
 
Speaking to Radio Ghana's Isaac Asare  in Bolgatanga, Mr Abongo further warned candidates to shun all forms of examination malpractices since the Education Ministry has instituted stringent measures to detect and deal with persons that engage in such acts. 
 
He said examination is all about writing what one has learned,therefore there is no pride engaging in tendencies that may undermine the credibility of the exams.
 
 He expressed the hope has with determination, they will emerge victorious and come out with flying colours. 
 
Meanwhile the Upper East Region is presenting twenty thousand, 704 candidates comprising ten thousand, 409 males and ten thousand, 295 females. the exam is taking place in all 13 districts of the region.
 
The Upper West Region is expected to present twelve thousand, 521 candidates for the exam. Northern Region on the other hand is presenting thirty nine thousand, 916. 

Ashanti Region has the highest number of candidates of ninety one thousand, 349 followed by Greater Accra which has eighty one thousand, 920. 

Central Region is next with forty nine thousand, 948.   

57 visually impaired candidates are expected to partake in today’s BECE across the country with one thousand, 598 supervisors.
