Lawyer Rudolf Nsowine Amenga-Etego, MP Chiana-Paga |
The winner of the just ended Chiana-Paga
Parliamentary primary, Lawyer Rudolf Nsowine Amenga-Etego says he was sure of
beating the incumbent MP, Abuga Pele since he was firmly rooted at the
grassroot.
The 48 year old private legal practitioner added that his victory came as no surprise to many because the desire for change was clear and amply demonstrated by the people in the constituency.
Speaking to Radio Ghana’s Isaac Asare via phone, Lawyer Amenga-Etego revealed that he entered into the race with no intention of losing and though he anticipated claiming the seat by a bigger margin, his close contender, Mr Pele gave him a good run for his money.
He commended Mr Abuga Pele and Jonathan Nyaaba for their respective roles in ensuring the smooth conduct of the election.
According to him, victory for him is victory for NDC as a party, therefore all differences must be put aside to make way for unity to strive as the party prepares to face a bigger political battle, which is election 2016.
Lawyer Amenga-Etego called on his contenders to rally behind him and most importantly work towards ensuring massive victory for President Mahama come, November, 7.
He moreover pledged an open door administration, inviting all party supporters to bring on board constructive ideas and criticisms to push the agenda of the party forward.
